PEOPLE NOT POLITICS
I will work with people on all sides of an issue, to achieve the best solution for the citizens of Chandler.
SOUND BUDGETING
We need to keep our budgets in balance and properly plan for the future. We should not leverage the future for short term ideas. My experience in working for a major department store chain for 10 years gives me that knowledge and understanding.
ECONOMIC HEALTH
I strongly believe in chandler as a leader in the valley and not a follower. We need to continue to develop a strategy for long term economic health. My experience over the years has taught me how to ask well informed questions. I take the time to be informed on the issues from all points of view. This enables me to make tough practical decisions based on facts and my knowledge of Chandler.
PUBLIC SAFETY
As a member of the council, I will make keeping our citizens safe a top priority. For the last several years I have been a member of Chandler Fire's Community Emergency Response Team. In a changing world we need to make sure those who provide us police and fire services as well trained, well equipped and well prepared.
SUSTAINABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
I believe one of my first responsibilities as an elected councilman is to maintain the quality of life for our families and businesses. I will be accountable to the people in our city. I have brought my hard work and common sense to the Planning and Zoning commission, neighborhood activism and Cert team. If elected I will take that same message to every council meeting.
DEVELOPMENT
My goals are to continue to work with the neighborhood communities and Chandler's professional staff as we approach build out. New development and residents must enhance and coexist with the standards of Chandler. With my experience on the planning commission, I will make sure that it is done in the best interests of our city.
COMMON SENSE
My common sense approach to issues throughout my career gives me the qualities to ask the tough questions, listen to all points on an issue and build a consensus on the facts. This along with my negotiation skills enables me to build that into what is best for all Chandler citizens.
CHANDLER NEIGHBORHOODS
My plan is to work with older neighborhoods to build sustainability with a multi prong approach. I will fight for reinvestment in chandler's older neighborhoods and shopping centers so our police, fire, teachers and staff are able to work and be homeowners in our city. I will continue to work to revitalize Chandler's older shopping centers.
DOWNTOWN CHANDLER
I am energized to continue the work of rebuilding the downtown Chandler area so that the results will reflect upon our heritage and significance of Chandler's contribution to Arizona's history.
BIG BOX STORES
I worked hard as a planning commissioner to force big box retailers to build quality projects and place them where they fit along the freeway corridors... NOT IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
BRINGING QUALITY JOBS TO CHANDLER
I oppose supporting retail tax incentives, but do support incentives for adding quality jobs such as the Intel expansion, TSYS, Wells Fargo and others.
OPEN DOOR POLICY
As a member of the Chandler City Council, I will have an open door policy where you will know that you can pick up the phone or send an email and I will personally respond to your concerns.
PROTECT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS
I worked alongside the parents at Jordan Elementary school to save the school from closing and will work with all the school districts that are in our city to ensure that we don't lose our neighborhood schools.
